AURORA Network
Allergan Europe
Objectives
The AURORA Network – the Alliance for European Ophthalmic Treatment Advances – is pharmaceutical company Allergan’s exciting educational initiative for glaucoma specialists. The aim is to bring together 200 senior ophthalmology clinicians in Europe, Asia and the Middle East to inform, educate, network and share best practice. Originally planned as a one-off, Allergan needed our expertise in delivering the event with a location, venue and programme that were logistically suitable and pharmaceutically compliant.
Our Response
We rose to the logistical challenge of sourcing a venue that could accommodate a plenary room and 14 workshops, and which met the ethical codes of the pharmaceutical industry. We fulfilled the registration, transport and accommodation needs of delegates and created a suitable social programme for the doctors.
The Result
The AURORA Network was a big market investment for Allergan, but it has been so successful that it is now entering its third year: the first was in Barcelona, the second in Noordwijk, and the third will be in Prague. Doctors feel that they gain something worthwhile from it and are keen to attend subsequent events. The success of the programme has prompted Allergan’s retina division to launch a similar initiative in 2012, which Worldspan Group will deliver.
